what do you mean by a moving firework? You lost me there

I always thought the k03 max output was well over 250bhp. Read that someone had 265 bhp out of it and others said they could get 300bhp, somewhere on the audi forum not so long ago.

Moving Firework= something that is about to blow any minute.
250 and 260 maybe you can see if you go for hybrid turbo
but bare in mind that the life limit of your turbo at those figures
is alooooott shorter.
300bhp on a K03 i dont believe it, are you sure you are not getting mixed up with K03s?

Could be, but isnt the k03 the same as the k03s, just the latter has a larger compressor. Could a k03 be upgraded to a k03s? Not that I actually wanna do it, just curious.

Just a random other question, I notice with ur mods, you have steered away from the mainstream revo map and forge intake. Was this for any specific reason say cost, upgrades nt being readily available at the time you did ur mods? Or was it because you were sure you'd get the best possible results out of the mod choices u made?

I've got a vortex on my tdi Leon. Tbh the only reason was because I've heard them on other cars. Some like the sound, some don't.
As for power claims, the only way you can be sure is to test it against another performance backbox. If you chopped off the backbox you'll most probably see a gain. So testing it against another exhaust is the best thing to do.
I personably don't buy into their claims. If I remember correctly their old website stated a 50bhp claim on a skyline r34.... Load of bs!

K03 and K03s are different turbos, it cant be upgraded to the K03s.
The reason i chose custom remap is because first of all my programmer is out of this world and i wanted something specially made for me based on the exact items i have on. It cost me a lot more than a Revo. Regarding the other things my choice was based on value for money.

Did you replace your intercooler with a new one rather than the addition of an extra part like forge. Im in the process of weiging up the pros and the cons. Same with the intake, all i have so far is a green cotton cone iside the original airbox, just something while i get a proper intake kit on it. Also, Ive not heard of Gk. I was looking at getting a custom but I wasnt sure about the fact that in one supplier, they may be more competant than at another, and Im aware of how complicated exhaust science can be. So I was waiting for a company like miltek to release a generic one which has documented gains before I buy it.

people can talk fantasy numbers all day, what counts is 1/4 mile times, FIA timing doesn't lie.

True mate fantasy league BHP's and NM's are all a bit willy waving. Better to prove your skills over the 1/4 you can have all the grunt in the world but if you dont know how to get the best from it well, if it blows up it blows up. Then again some think its the dogs danglies of bragging when they turn the internals of the turbo to molten mush:censored:

yeah i did replace the old I/C with a new one, the old was removed from the car.If you have a mechanic that you trust custom solutions are a lot cheaper and they do work, on the other hand if you don't have one, buy a something named that you know it is working. Finally, i would be surprised if you knew GK, its a Greek exhaust center, but the guy is making exhausts for a lot of racing cars here in north Greece.

but a better time means your gonna beat more stuff off the lights. :funk:

its all about 1/4 for me too.

Some people set up their cars 0-400, others tho might prefer to set them up for roll-600 or roll-800 where the full power of the car is shown. Thats why i said not every1 is into 1/4mile.

How's the clutch on your car any slip? Have people been looking into some harder waring organic clutch plates?

Fine on mine mate. With same mods as you, didnt have any slip when I did 1/4 mile at santa pod. t/c off btw, thats when I've heard that theres problems.

Really? Didnt even try with it on. Was it in sport mode and you let it change itself?

First run I was a bit inexperienced, didnt get a good line and had a lot of wheel spin, got a 14.7s. Then the second time I nailed it, perfect gear changes which i did myself in S and got 13.7s. I'll have to try it with t/c on next time

Yeah left it in sport with TC on. I'd only just had the map that day so it hadn't settled yet. Next time I want to change the later gears myself as it does tend to run out of puff in 4 & 5th after 5.9k
