Hi guys,

Now as i bought the car with the G60flywheel and vr6 clutch done, i ma unaware on its mileage, however this morning it died!

Foot to the floor and i lose about 3k of revs to slip!

YaY! there was no real signs like im used to on a clutch going, it just slipped the once this morning and has no continued to do so!

So im not going to drive it from now on until i replace it..

I have had mixed opinions on this, but should i change the flywheel aswel?

Or could i just machine the face to fresh material and lighten in while im at it?

because buying a clutch alone would be far cheaper for me atm as i have bought a new house!

Thanks guys!

did you have proof that you had the vr6/g60 set up in? im really suprised its slipping. i thought it was supposed to be good for hybrid power region? i would have thought you can just replace the clutch aslong as the fly isnt damaged at all

Ive said this on loads of threads now lol

But check the clutch position switch in the top of the pedal

If it has come out of the pedal it will cause slipping issues etc

Really not sure tbh

Mine was a case of unscrew a tiny bit, then drive and check until it stops slipping,, although it only took one adjustment for me and it was fine from then on

With the switch in too far mine would slip all the time (clutch not dis-engaging)

When the switch had come out of my pedal it would only slip when the car was hot bit like you have described.

Get the Helix on! ;)

Yer just turn it, thread was knackered on mine though and had to get a new one, i had a nut welded onto the pedal too as previous owner had butchered the bit that holds it in lol

If you have a G60 flywheel then there's no point in replacing it, if it needs it then get it machined but it might be ok, it sounds like the pressure plate might be the problem because if the friction plate goes it does it over a period of time and not suddenly but the springs on the pressure plate can go out of the blue.:)
