So then, I've had my Leon for two years and my dealer has reached out to me with the latest 0% offer and a generous equity in my Leon.

Until now I was going to wait out for a potential facelifted Leon estate, with *hopefully* a larger hybrid battery (been reading it could be a 1.5TSI and 25kwh battery). We've just taken on a puppy and she will definitely appreciate the space, however I don't think the hybrid at the moment has enough electric range for my use case. So, I've gone down the line of a Formentor.

My question - I chose the 2.0 245 in my Leon for its balance of power and economy, what are peoples economy figures like on the Formentor with this engine? I'm hoping at least someone could enlighten as in both the Leon and Formentor it is quite a rare configuration. In the Leon I usually get 35MPG to work which is mixed, 30 around town and 40+ on longer trips easily. I believe it topped at 48 once.

Thanks!

Doggo doesn’t go in the boot she has a back seat carrier - reason for wanting bigger boot is we would appreciate a larger cargo area for when we go away.

Economy looks to be about the same by those figures.
Maybe a couple of MPG less all round. All depends on how heavy your foot is as I find it very fun to drive.

🤔Do you get the deeper boot in the Formentor 245 version? or is it filled with AAAs?

The dog question keeps coming up, so I present to you a 60Kg French Mastiff pup, with his pet. In the back of a Vz2 PHEV 245.

There is no dog that can't fit in there, if this guy can. The question really boils down to what sort of crate or guard you want. I have opted to get a metal bar setup, purely based on his size and the need to retain 320kg break force.

If you get a small crate, you will reduce space, a lot.

Now that’s what I call a real dog! He looks great.

Not sure I’d be brave enough to attempt to take his ‘pet’ away from him though…………

I have the 2.0 245 engine in my Formentor, had it for 18 months now, I would say I get the same figures as you're quoting. I mostly get any where from low to high 40s on my commute to work which is 25 miles each way 85% motorway. I have even seen 50+ but you have to really try and anticipate  I would say around town anywhere from mid 20s to low 30s. As you'll already know, when the engine is already warm the economy is pretty good!

Really helpful - thank you. By luck I did a trip up north earlier in the week (leon) and over 90-odd miles got exactly 50.0MPG, that's majority motorway and a short sprint through Leeds. Cracking economy.

No worries, I remember you being one of the first to post your initial impressions about the 2.0 245 in the Leon/Formentor. Was extremely useful! I agree, the engine is generally a very good allrounder. I will be very sad to see if go back around next March, I wouldn't hesitate to get another Formentor/Leon with the same engine later on
