I see they said you can get them in black but off the german flea bay.......................... will have a nose around. I really really like that. Would need to do some measurements too. Can any one get a pic from their cupra or boc one? I may just nip down later and take a pic myself actaully. Sorry, just saw there is a pic at the top hehehehhee So ours are actually a little different tbh, the plastic is also tinted, may just leave mine as is.

If i decide to do it Jason I'll let you know how it goes, looks like me and you will have paint ours or pay stupid money or fleabay

Yeah, I checked on the german one and they have them there at about £35 but then they need to be prepped and painted and fitted. It would look really noce I reckon.

Thanks for that another brilliant guide - and now that we know it fits for sure, I'm definitely going to do it.

Going to price the parts on Monday and work out if it's cheaper to get it from VW or German eBay. There are some "kits" on German eBay for about £54 (inc delivery) complete with all the wiring needed.

I've also asked David to see if he can work his magic, but I think as the light is specific to VW we'll be out of luck. Someone also mentioned TPS so I might try them as well.

Once it's done I'll do a guide and put it on here. As great as Google translate is I think an English mk5 Ibiza guide would make things a little easier.

Even though its a VW part, any SEAT, AUDI, SKODA OR VW dealer should be able to order it in. As its a non stock/off the shelf item anyway.

Thanks Engimaneer, I take it the wiring of it is the same for most cars then? I was worried the Ibiza might be different to a Leon or Golf, but looking at the guides it seems the same.

well the light has 3 inputs which will be the sam, so at the light it is the same.
The difference will be the 12V feed. Which I took from the back of the heaglight switch. To find the right one, all you have to do is use a multimeter or circuit tester to find the switched 12V supply.

the mk2 leon fr has the wee lights on the bottom of the rear view mirror which is a bit less noticeable. i think that would that fit the ibiza???? but would probably be more expensive than the light unit.

Didn't know the Leon's had ambient lights on the mirror, though looking at pictures it looks like the Leon's mirror is mounted on the roof, where as in the Ibiza it's on the windscreen, so it probably wouldn't work.

Also wondering if anyone has thought of putting a courtesy/interior light in the back of there ibiza. Also, foot well lights are something I've had in other cars and wouldn't mid having a go at fitting.

Hit a bit of a brick wall with this.

To make the wiring loom, you need the following wires
000 979 131 Wires / connectors x2
000 979 103 wires / connectors x2

I've got 000 979 131 fine, however when David at SERE ordered 000 979 103 ETKA said it was superseded to 000 979 213 E - however this is a completely different wire with a thick bullet style connect rather than the flat connector that 000 979 103 had?

Has anyone else came across this problem when ordering the wires recently? Is there another part number for 000 979 103?

Think I have this one solved thanks to the help of a guy called Dodger on uk-mkivs. Saw he had a thread about the same problem and I Pm'd him

Yea, sorry, I deleted the thread text as no-one was answering & I had worked it out myself!

You have the same problem i did, the wires you have now (000 979 213 E) as you say are wrong.

I ordered 000 979 103 E x 2 they match up with the size wiring coming out from the original Golf wiring loom & have the right connectors.

Take the other ones back & get a refund, as the supersession is in-correct, take the plug with you too, so you can show them!
