drove up to liverpool today no probs coming back down the m6 we got stuck in a traffic jam and the amber glow plug warning light on the left side of the warning lights its the one witht what looks like the bendy bit of wire came on and started flashing.. car seemd to be okay got home... has been standing or about 5 hours just taken my son off somewhere the light comes on flashes for about 5 minutes and goes off then comes back on again what does it mean... normally every time you start the car this light comes on for about 3 4 secs and goes off.. have already had 2 new glow plugs under warranty but the engine management light came on when they went wrong...i am puzzled.... and i am getting fed up now of having to book into the dealer to get it vag comed and repaired, its time off work all the time boss is getting fed up with it..any ideas.... this will be the third time now i have got to go to the dealer in about 6 weeks....

Sorry to hear of your grief, but could be one of many things. The only course of action, especially if its under warranty, is to take it back to the dealer and let them have yet another go at it:cry:

Sounds like a typical Seat, they hate going past garages without calling in for a repair....

thnaks will go and have a look at the lights in a bit see if any of them have gone it would be good if it is simple like that....

That warning light can go off for a few reasons. Mostly heating and ignition though. (And some parts of the fuel system, i think).

I've had/ have the same problem, only mine was worse because the car actually cut out - in heavy traffic on the M1! I had to get the car towed off the motorway. Someone from the AA did a temp fix to get me home.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, i wasted £60 taking it to local and specialist garages trying to save money by not taking it to SEAT. Only SEAT knew what was wrong with it. One of the garages, the VW 'specailist' actually, tried telling me my clutch needed replacing aswell. (It didn't.)

My fault was something to do with the ECU and the fuel cut off valve. It may be something completly different with yours though so your best off taking it in before it cuts out on you.

Hope you get it sorted and it's something simple. Let us know how you get on. Thanks.

nothing more annoying than warning lights [:@] , always so many things it could be . i had that light a few months back, was the brake light swith on the pedal.
