Hi,

After my experience, I thought I'd post a quick warning.

I replaced one of my door modules with an el cheapo £25 copy from Ebay and it failed within a couple of months. The seller sent a replacement with no fuss, but now that one's failed too.

Looking at the one I took out, I think this is a bit more than just bad luck as the design has no waterproofing whatsoever. There's no rubber seal between the 2 halves of the module containing the electronics and the "door open" microswitch is a standard type, not a waterproof one. The latter is the biggest issue in practice because water running down the back of the door can track around the lock mechanism and straight onto the switch.

So, buyer beware. Given what a faff it is to take the door apart and reseal it, I think it's worth an extra £100 for an official part.

If you told me on Sunday I could have had you a rear caliper but no doubt someone's already bought it, are you in a rush for it?

If ur in no rush I may be able to get you one tomorrow, let me no mate.

I have 3 here mate, none with pistons, I can measure the diameter but id just like someone to confirm the dimentions to make sure I dont order the wrong one!

According to the table I'm looking at, there are three rear brake setups covering the whole Leon range. All are Lucas/TRW

22mm thick vented disks, 256mm diameter, calipers have 38mm pistons: LCR, VR6 4wd, TDI 150 4wd
9mm thick solid disks, 232mm diameter, calipers have 41mm pistons: LC, LC 4wd
9mm thick solid disks, 232mm diameter, calipers have 38mm pistons: TDI 150, 130, 110, SDI, non-turbo petrol engines.
