Alhambra 2.0 Diesel due MOT at end of December as will be 3 years old on 3 January 2010
This will be my last chance for work to be done under warranty, apart from leaking light clusters on rear hatch car is running very well with few problems.
Can anyone advise what areas I should be asking the dealer to check!

ive herd they do a end of warrenty inspection, dont kno if this is true,

or you could take to an independent garage to have a look round it and write you up a list of what needs doing

this should void you warrenty as they arnt working on it

The warranty inspection went ahead and guess what; it was not immediately accepted that the leaky rear light cluster was a warranty item, despite the fact that they replaced the offside light cluster some 12 months earlier.

Dealer is now saying that all warranty claims must be authorised by VW before work commences and that photographic evidence has been forwarded to them for comment. This seems to be a major change in practice, is this right or is dealer just laying down a line of patter!

The main bone of contention is that it was not the seal around the light cluster that was the problem and they then described this as a condensation problem; which is very strange as it looks more like a goldfish bowl to me the amount of water in the light fitting.

Oh well ho hum!

I shall wait with baited breath for future contact.

Well after 3 e-mails and 2 phone calls finally got the call up only to be told that the dealer required the vehicle for 2 days!
How can it take 2 days to change a light cluster?
Anyway the good news is that the light cluster has been replaced at no cost to me.
I am therefore a happy bunny.

Thank you Seat / VW
