Just noticed that after pulling stalk it sprays the screen wash after 3 seconds or so.

Is this normal?

MY21 FR Sport model

Same on VW’s too, so it might be a VAG thing across all VAG brands.

Edit; just done a bit of research. The delay is there because there isn’t a non-return valve in the flexible tubing from the washer fluid reservoir to the washer jets, meaning any residual washer fluid in the tubing after washing the screen drains back into the washer fluid reservoir.

Can sometimes be annoying, but stops washer fluid freezing in the flexible tubing during the colder winter months, which is probably why it was designed that way.

Thanks for the info

Also it is possible that you have heated washer jets, which take X amount of seconds to warm up before they start spraying...
My jets on MY18 also have a delay, of approx 1.5/2 seconds.

Could be! Previous cars with heated jets have been quicker though. Maybe its a mix of not having a non-return valve and the heated jets. Either way it puts my mind a rest now we know the issue

The spray jet heaters will be getting powered as long as the engine is running and not just when the washers are demanded,

Maybe add in a one way valve to each circuit as that will work as long as you keep the washer fluid at the correct protection level - which everyone should be doing?
