Just a heads up to folks, I had the pleasant experience of having the drivers side wiper blade fly off on the M9 on Tuesday evening when on my way home.
No warning - just a noise then gone. - It was, of course, chucking it down with 7-8 miles to the next turn off leaving me no choice but to continue to Linlithgow.
Long story short, I managed to get a Bosch wiper blade from Halfords (but they stock drivers side only which is weird).
On inspection in daylight, I noticed that the brand was lucas, and the locking tab that holds them on is considerably smaller and looser than the Bosch, one and I can pull the blade off reasonably easily.
They were fitted before I got the car, so my advice to folks is if you've recently bought your car, check for Lucas blades, and if you bought Lucas blades - I'd swap them for Bosch.
Next on the buy list is a set of wiper blades for peace of mind.
One thing though, the design is poor - if that tab fails, then there is nothing to stop the blade flying off on when it reaches its topmost range and you're driving into a headwind.
