Hi guys. As it been raining for couple of days now i found that my leon is leakig ;( today i found lots of water on passager footwell. Now, i read alot about doors and i will remove the door card tomorrow and seal it, however in my case it leaking from somewhere by the central console quite badly. Water drops can be seen dropping like from the tap.

as a new member i cannot post photos or youtube links ;( the leak is from corner of the central console just under the glovebox

If anyone had a same problem please help. Thanks

doors are very common..
have you seen it drip from the glove boax area or is this where the water pools?
I ask as if the car is not on level ground..

otherwise the pollen filter is a possible source. this can happen if not fitted correctly and/or the drain holes are blocked. some searching will likely bring up more info.

The car was on level ground and the water drips from glovebox area. In about 5 hours i manage to get more than half liter of water as I had to place a bowl for now. Filter cover placed in properly. Where about are the drain holes do you know? Thanks for a reply

Check the base of the interior filter holder (under the scuttle panel, if that is the correct word), they tend to leak there as well. Might also be missing component of the filter holder. Check if the filter is clicked in properly and the plastic "spoiler" sits in place and the rubber flap fits over the spoiler.

I think you might solved my problem mate. When i changed my filter ive noticed that there is no that plastic spoiler thing wheres when changing filter on my mates mk4 golf there was one. So it looks like mine is missing. Need to browse the web and get one. Hopefully that will solve my problem. Thanks mate. Ill would never guess that it might be missing as i dont know if all cars have this thing.

Today is your lucky day ;) You're missing number 20. Thank me in reputation points :1st:

Thanks for that mate. Ive picked one of these from scrappy today. I also noticed that the base in where the filter seats is loosen and have no contact with the seal on the bottom. So i used some silicone adhesive and its all in place now. Hopefully my problem with water is now over ;D will seal the doors soon just in case but i cant see any water getting through there. Thanks for all info guys ;)
