got this problem with my Mk4..due to a torrential downpour the other day, my good lady 'faffing' around trying to get into the car as the heavens opened.. got the inevitable.. water all over the drivers seat edges.. now looks bloody horrible..
best way of treating? dont really want to pay for a full valet as he car is kept pretty much pristine, and its only one seat that is affected..

TIA,
John

thought of that, 'Vax' stylee.. but wondered if theres a 'product available that can do it *almost dry*.. poxy weather at the mo.. its not like i can leave the door open so the sun can get at the seat to help dry it!!

i bought a steam cleaner last week from focus.got mine out almost perfectly, even got the chewing gum off the back seat that my daughter somehow managed to get on the arse of her jeans.
not too bad on alloys either, except the ground in bits of braks pad

I had loads of these (the seats had gotten a little dirty in general) and found that Mr Muscle Multi Purpose cleaner worked a treat!

It's great on carpets and sofas.... and car seats too. I tried it on a bit of material that wasn't visable first. ;)

Works a treat. Just mist it on - as per the instructions, leave for 5 mins or so, blot and then give them a bit of a rub with a damp cloth.

They've come up like new now.

anything with a foaming action will also help. This will 'lift the dirt' rather than soaking it in for you to try to scrub out. trying using a dabbing motion first, rather than scrubbing, this reduces the spread and also depth of moisture into the seats.
