Hi Guys, as title suggests can't manage to get hold of a metal impellor water pump GSF only do plastic now, Seat is obviously plastic and Euro Car parts do one made by Circo which I've never heard of!

What you guys got and where did you buy it from?

Regards Matt.

The only issue with Euro's is that all they can get hold of at the moment is the plastic water pumps. Well last time i checked anyway. Best bet is to call them and check in the box.

I have done a search! but my question was are the euro car parts any good because as with a lot of GSF the quality is shite and I'm not prepared to put sub standard parts in my car! was wondering if they did a valeo unit or bosch or something along those lines!

you havnt even attempted a search have you... never mind

from another thread "Brass impeller pump from eurocar parts for 23.92 inc VAT
Part number: 201440655 (Golf IV)"

or
http://www.water-pumps.org/Audi-TT-1-8-waterpumps.html

this page allows you to click on the OE part number of get the brass impeller details
http://www.water-pumps.org/o-e-part-number-guide.html

from GSF the part number off the box is: 06A121011E (Brass impellor) GSF part number for it is (17062) it cost about £28
Genius, just checked my local GSF and they are £26.91 incl VAT and in stock!

Is it recommended to get these changed at the same time as servicing as my cambelt was done not long ago by the prev owner?

as ive taken some of the information from other members, and GSF can change there suppliers now and then, if you do get one id check it does have a brass impeller while at the shop.

the reason people get the water pump done when the cambelt is changed is that the cambelt is removed to change a water pump. Therefore what can be an expensive job to change the water pump on its own due to the labour involved, becomes relatively cheap it done while the belt is off. Thats not to say all water pumps fail, its just sensible to put a new one on 'while your there'.

If you have already done a cambelt change, you may well want to re-consider whether to change the water pump. if it has nto failed. It may well be that it doesnt fail!
