? Water temp sender

Got an 04' LC 32K miles, AUQ engine, yesterday the orange engine warning light come on, did a bit of searching on here and thought it might be the water temp sender. Especially as the car seemed reluctant to start, almost as if the battery was low on charge (it's not I've checked)
Replaced that today with a genuine vw part, but still have warning light........the temp sender I removed was black and I replaced with a green one, is this ok?
Otherwise anyone in s.wales with vag com? I'm in Bridgend but willing to travel a bit obviously

benji, when i changed the part my light stayed on also.

i have vag com so cleared it and it never came back.

im in newport if you need someone to clear it for you.

just to add, i think if you drive around for a while the fault code will clear itself but i could be wrong.

nope not really, feel free to pop down but you'll have to excuse the state of my car, have not had chance to clean it yet.
