Hi all, needing some direction and advice, just brought a 11 plate Leon fr with K1 kit, in candy White, I am wanting to keep it looking spot on and shining like a new one forever!!! I have been looking at dodo juice, megiaurs, Swissvax and zymol, have know idea on what to go for but definitely don't want to get AG. Swaying more towards dodo juice diamond White starter kit but can't find any reviews about it.

Also, do I need to use a paint cleaner on a brand new car? Don't want to use anything to harsh, but definitely want the wet look show stopping shine.

I am very confused on what to buy, would appreciate some comments.

Cheers
Zeb.

Hi Zeb,

Car sounds great. I think if it was me I would do the following:

Very gentle clay with something like Meguiars Smooth Clay kit, available in Halfords, but make sure you get the updated pack if you can.

You could then go for an all in one or specific Polish then Wax. I used the new product from Bilt Hamber last week Cleanser-Polish on my white MR2 and came up great.

From a visual point of view, most people cannot see the difference in the results you get after doing a multiple-step polish and wax process versus a one-step process when working on white paint. The exception would be a white car with a neglected finish that has heavy oxidation or stains, obviously yours will be close to perfect so I would go for an all in one if it was me. Meguiars NXT2.0 also gives excellent results on white and can be picked up at Halfords.

When finished don’t forget to clean and dress the tyres, well worth it especially on a white car.

I have candy white paintwork on my ibiza. I use one layer poorboys white diamond and one layer hd wax. The paintwork looks lovely and new after this and my car will be 4 in november. Hope this helps.

I'd personally go for a sealant on white, as they are more reflective and are also better at keeping a car cleaning for longer, and generally are more durable.

Also, you should really be looking to decontaminate the paint before protecting it, especially being white, as it will show up tar and fallout an awful lot.

For sealants, look at something like Zaino Z2 or Auto Finesse Tough Coat
