I've been using a few of their products for the last few months. Really pleased with them.
Medium clay bar - good value and very easy to work with. Can be used with water as a lube but I added a small amount of Chemical Guys speed wipe to work the area.
Auto wheels - great product. Works as well as VP Dragons Breath, and although there's still an underlying smell of sulphur, it doesn't smell as bad!
Cleanser polish - very easy to apply and buff off. Leaves a very nice finish.
Finis wax - A little goes a long way. Easy to apply and buff off and hands down the best wax or last stage product I've used so far. Two months after a two layer application and it's still beading really well and even after a snow foam and wash it's obviously still lasting well.
Auto wash - One of the best shampoos I've found and great value with only a table spoon being used in a 20 ltr bucket (I use a little more than recommended due to hard water area).
I used to prefer Chemical Guys and Sonax products but I think Bilt Hamber is my new fave. Going to try some of their QD once my 5 ltr bottle of CG speed wipe runs out.
Their Korrosol is great at removing brake dust and bizarrely smells like cake (as opposed to sulphur and suffering). Surfex HD is an excellent degreaser.
Thanks for all replys,I forgot I ordered the alloy wheel cleaner as well.Never used the clay bar before but the bloke next door swares by it so thought I give it a go, the medium one I've ordered. Let's hope it's all here for weekend so I can give it its first good seeing too.
Can't wait for my Apollo Blue ST FR arrive now
Unfortunately I don't have the possibility to work extensively on my car myself. I'll be getting the car waxed (or maybe use a paint sealant) as soon as I get it.
I used said clay bar, polish and wax at the weekend, they go on very easy and more importantly come off very easy. I'm very pleased with the results and would recommend.
I wouldn't use water when claying and i definitely wouldn't advise someone who has never clayed before to use water. You really ought to use a decent lubricant to spray on the car, there's plenty available that'll do the job just fine.
It may depend upon the type of bar you use (never used the Bilt Hamber) but I'd never use water mainly because it's not a lubricant and that's what you need when you're sliding a bar of clay around your paintwork.
Agreed, I know plenty of people use just water but with some clays it just doesn't slide around very well. I use whatever brand of quick detailer spray I happen to have heavily thinned down with water, you definitely don't need neat spray, water just needs a little waxy stuff in the water to make it more slippery.
These clays tend to vary on how aggressive they are too. The megs one is quite light, but others I've seen on a black car leaves scratches which need quite a deep polish to remove.
I've just done my new Leon. Went for 2 coats on the body, 3 coats on the wheels and rainx on the glass. The advantge of the standard FR wheels i can clean all the backs quite easy throught the spokes, short of where the front calipers is.
