Managed to pick up some Foliatec Black caliper paint today at Halford. It was in the bargain bin for a tenner so i thought i'd have a go. I also ordered some red SEAT decals from ebay. I'm not going to remove the wheels as i have checked and its quite easy to clean, prepare and paint the caliper through the large gaps on the 18'' wheels.

Like the idea of black with red decals nice and subtle, will post pics when done

why not? it's a five minute job (including the cup of tea) to get a wheel off.

besides your wheels will look daft with paint drips

^^ agree ^^

Pull the wheels off .. much easier to get at the calipers too .. because they do go a long way back, and you really want to sand the rust / dust build up off first before you start.

Do it in a public car park then!

I changed my head gasket in a public car park once. Luckily they were resurfacing it at the time so had removed the pay meters.
It took about a week as I had to wait for a metal head gasket to arrive.
I went to it one day, and the whole of the car park had been relayed with tarmac except the space I was parked in! Can't believe they didn't get it towed away or fined!

my drive is on a slope, i removed the wheels no probs on the standard jack, went with red though, needed 2-3 coats per calliper to get the desired sheen. looks far better than the bare metal imo.
