Right,

I was just nipping out for some lunch and on the way back I was sitting at the traffic lights on a dual carriageway and I pulled away pretty hard (nothing to do with the crappy focus that wanted to race me). I got through first gear and in second I got to 4000rpm and then no more. It stayed like that for only a couple of seconds and then full power was resumed and was ok all the way back to the office

Will run VAGCom when I get a chance but just wondered if you had any thoughts?

Cheers
Paul

A similar thing happend to me after a long drive to London on Saturday. It was a very hot day and had been sat in slow moving traffic for quite a while so put it down to that. Has been fine ever since but would be interested to know the cause.

Had this v. recently. Turned out I needed a new water-pump. Heat problems were causing the ECU to run in a form of limp mode, *apparently*. Oddness.

Seems to make sense though.

it could have also been your tcs kicking in to stop wheelspin ,have looked a little red faced myself with not turning off when setting off fast at traffic lights and junctions....its a strange feeling as you set off fine then as you changed gear and floored it but felt to crawl for a few seconds...tried with tcs off(switch inbetween seats near handbrake)and has never done it again
