Morning guys. Been having a look around the forums and websites, but not to much info n these as yet. Im all over the TFSI engine for mods and tuning. havent got a clue with this one.

Remaps: Ive seen REVO have stage 1 out, alleged 215hp which is a cheaky little increase. what about stage 2 with exhaust/intake. cant find anything about this yet. Anyone running this or know of tuners with available software/figures.

Intakes: what have we got then. what are the tested/expected gains on these engines in both standard and mapped trim. Not to sure how restrictive the standard system is.

Exhausts: Needed for stage 2 and decent gains imo. Im not bothered about cat backs personally, all you get is a louder car, all the performance gains are in the downpipe IMO. Whos running what? what are the best/recommended bore for the 1.4TSI.

Handling: I have an unhealthy obsession with handling on cars. are all the parts interchangable between the fabia, Ibiza and Polo just as with the Mk5 chassis etc.

Anti roll bars: found eibach bars and thats it. I found them on my previous 2 cars to be a bit to neutral, so id prefer a stiffer rear bar to make them a bit more pointy. still my favourite mod though.

Suspension: ive heard KW have kits out now.

Adjustability: How adjustable is the front suspension on these cars. Is camber fixed, if so, anyone aware of top mounts or adjustable lower control arms available on the market?

cheers guys
Sy

Tilley on here has a REVO and he got I think like 229 on the rollers with I would guess V-Power. Milltek should be releasing two sets of systems at the end of December from what I have been told by them. Mardon on here has a whiteline ARB which were fitted with his coilies at Awesome GTI. I am saving for KW V3 myself which are not cheap but you can get such a better set up with them. Forge have a twintercooler, intake, BOV spacer and header tank out already. ITG have also done an induction kit whicj I believe gives like an additional 10% or 10bhp, not too sure. I have been dealing with INA in Canada who are in the process of developing an uprated clutch pack for the dsg with more "durable" material so we can get more torque through the box. There is a guy in Greece who has been playing around with his turbo too, changing impellers etc and we are waiting on the results when he redoes the map in the new year and puts the car on the rollers. there are quite a few mods out now as you can see and many still being developed. I reckon we can see easily 270 - 300bhp out of these engines.

Remaps: Had I not been selling the car mine would have had a Motech Performance/Washbrook map written for it. Not a fan of revo for my own reasons plus I use people I know and trust.

Intakes: Got the forge intake kit myself. Rolling roaded before at 186bhp and after the intercooler was fitted along with the intake kit got 194bhp on the same rollers.

Exhausts: Down pipe is a pre cat so likely going to be fairly costly to rework, plus new regulations out soon mean all sports cats will have to meet the same standards and type approval as a factory cat so expect a lot of them to disapear before long as development costs will be too high,

Handling: I have a Weitec coil over kit, arbs etc are all the same as the Mk4 Ibiza and Fabia etc. Suspension it slightly different using MK1 Octavia type top mounts, also consoles have been replaced with a steel subframe.

Anti roll bars: as said, usual Jabba, or Whiteline kits fit.

Suspension: Weitec, KW, Apex Eibach all have options

Adjustability: Same as MK4 Ibiza and Fabia as no adjustability as standard.

cheers guys, so i guess with the lack of exhausts available on the market at the moment it means there are no stage 2 guys at all in the UK.

Just stage 1 with an intake and maybe intercooler. The limiting factor from what i gather is the 7 speed DSG being made of trifle. Has anyone spoken to REVO about them making a stage 2 for these cars?

Intake wise, i see ITG have their intake. I had their maxogen kit on my previous vRS and it was pretty impressive even more so since i got it for next to nothing as i was the vRS donor vehicle.

ive been reading alot of how the ESp is really interfering, and causes brake issues. what is the pad availability for these cars like?

There are decent upgraded pads available from what I have read. Once INA have done the clutch pack for the box they will be speaking to REVO UK about soring the map out to accomodate the box, so once that has been done, with twintercooler and intake etc, stage 2 will be definate.

Hello mate,

Remaps: In Greece at least Revo has released a Stage 2 that produces 230bhp and 32kilos of torque, surely companies that do custom remaps will be able to sort you out also. If you want to go for max output maybe you should consider also an Intercooler because the stock one is ok up to 220, ofc depends what sort of temperature you get in your country.

Intakes: Many of them out there, K&N, BMC, Pipercross, ITG, Forge, imo not such a big difference between them, make sure its a 70mm neck and about 150mm length and it is fine for stage 2.

Exhausts: A far as i know there have not been any branded exhausts released, there is always the custom made ones that work fine. You are right that the most performance comes from the downpipe and the catalyst, for stage 2 a full 63,5mm exhaust is what you need, if you plan to go higher go for a 70mm downpipe with 63,5 cat back, also go for a racing catalyst which is less restrictive. Although as said before its the DP+Cat that gives you the performance the stock exhaust is quite restrive and it would help if you changed that too.

Suspension: The KW3 ofc is top notch but very expensive if you can afford it go for it worth every penny, if you want something cheap and reasonably good you can have a look at AP coilovers which will cost around 600 euros or so.

im not a huge fan of miltek. their exhausts for the 2.0TFSI VAG fleet havent had the best reputation for build quality

I loved my Milltek on the K1. I had a couple of issues that were sorted straight away under their no quibble warranty. You pay your money, you make your choice.

I will be getting the milltek system mate. Just need to know how much they will be hehehehehehhehe

The milltek exhaust will probably cost around 1500 Euros(1280 GBP).
bare in mind a custom one will cost around 900-1000 Euros(770-850 GBP).

I have to agree with Vrsy, milltek has dropped alot in quality, but you get warranty so anytime you can send them back the exhaust and they will send you a brand new one which is pretty kewl.

Hello mate,

Remaps: In Greece at least Revo has released a Stage 2 that produces 230bhp and 32kilos of torque,

am i right in thinking 32 kilos of torque is just over 300NM = about 230lbft of torque.

thats 50Nm over the rating of the box!!

32kgs=313Nm

Define the limit of DSG, what is the limit and who has ever gone past it? Personally i ve been running on 32kg and didnt have an issue, now i even more and still the box holds well.

Dont take the Seat limits to seriously. the claim that the limit of 1.8 tsi 6 speed manual is 25 kg and my mate has been running 47 kg and didnt have an issue. They claim that the limit of 6speed DSG is 350Nm and we have cars running on 550Nm.

The gearbox has a built in function to protect it and if i am not mistaken it activates whenever it reads more than 35kg of torque.

I take my hat off to you for being brave enough to test the limits yourself. I believe these cars standard are running 250NM which I am sure I was led to believe. Could be wrong, what do I know after all hehehehehhee. That is also why I aproached INA to sort the upgraded clutch pack.

This seems to be ITG maxogen intake for the 1.4TSI

This is the forge intake

cant find any dyno graphs for this one though

has anybody considered just removing the precat from the standard exhaust.

This is a pic of the precat on the standard exhaust on a VAG 2.0TFSI alongside one wth it reomoved. as you can see the exhaust gases leave the turbo and hit a wall of catalytic material immediately. If you were to remove that, the back pressure will be reduced as well ass the exhaust gases etc. Much more free flowing than stock, will still pass the MOT.

its a bit more stealth for the old servicing as well. they would notice an uprated downpipe immediately, they would never notice this at all

WOW, that is actually quite thick! Have you done this to your VRS then? Is there a noticeable difference?
