i had a downpipe, but i know of quite a few guys who have done it and even on stock motors have noticed a notable difference in the spool up and power.

With stage 2 maps, the biggest issue is exhaust gas temps, that is why the exhaust upgrade is needed. obviously removing the pre cat will never be as good as a performance downpipe with a larger bore, but id bet its not to far off. Considering a downpipe will cost you around £500, and this is free, even if it only made 70% of the gains of a proper DP then it'd still be worth it, especially if under warranty

Jopn TFSI on here has fully decatted his standard exhaust, and is about to load stage 2+ revo software on his cupra.

My Octy vRS was running around 275Hp/300lbft. I could happily latch on to my mates Mk2 Focus RS all day long. neigh on identical in performance. Told him it was only about 260hp though:D he went and got it mapped and asked for another go, to which i declined. To this day i never let him forget he couldnt lose a skoda family hatch back with two child seats and 5 doors:funk:

BTW the shark stage 3 is the same as a stage 2+ Remap, so still on the std turbo.

I believe shark performance have maps out for the 1.4TSI.

this is from will at Ptorque

Hi Guys

I have been asked to post some info in this section.

The P-Torque software for the 1.4 TSI offers approx 210 - 215hp and 205 - 210lbs/ft torque.

We are currently chatting to Forge regarding the FMIC and Intake system for the Fabia, and check fitment against that of the Ibiza's

There has been alot of concern regarding DSG transmission in almost all VAG variants, but in actual fact they are very strong, and we have tested them both on the track, road and dyno, and to date not 1 customer has suffered a DSG issue, despite some running high levels of torque (360lbs/ft)

Within the next week we will be releasing our DSG software upgrade for the Fabia/Ibiza too

P-Torque

so engine and DSG maps available from PTorque

the 6 speed DSG remap raised the rev limit and shif up point of the gear box and increased the allowable torque limits

I think it will give a longer torque curve higher up the rev range.

That wont be down to the gear box mate. All it can change is where it rev's to and when it changes. There is no point putting the rev limit any higher on a standard or even stage one car. If they removed auto kick down in manual that would be great!

Well i've gone and ordered a Fabia vRS Hatch.

First mod will be a Rear ARB. Is this the correct one.http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=8060&xSec=344 and more importantly is this going to be a worthy increase in stiffness. Obviously it was fine for the mk4 ibiza, but the newer cars could well have a beefier ARB as standard? Anyone using it, or recommend a size from experience?

It'll end up with suspension after the first service, but ill be chucking on the skoda approved eibachs springs initially, just to get rid of the'on stilts' effect.

then a remap. Going to chisel out the precat as i posted in the other thread. then probably the ITG intake and a stage 1 remap to start off. Guess it'll be more of a stage 1+ with the precat removed

Not sure tbh mate. Could be but I have not read it any where. Techie would know actually. The price is pretty steep too but then again, everything is getting pricier now so I guess you just have to pay for it? Another question, are the springs good enough with the box? We kept being told you can't stick springs on as the dsg is too heavy and you have to go the coilies route.

Post 3 from techie elludes that these would fit. ive emailed jabba.

Reference the springs, who said that. thats ridiculous IMO. the car has springson them now. the newer springs would be stiffer and are designed from actual axle weights and not just random figures. People saying coilovers only, seem a bit suspect to me. where they in the modding industry by any chance?.

Skoda approved springs from JKM. they did the same on the coatvaia vRS as well.

For those of you lucky enough to own a nice new Fabia VRS 1.4 TSI, You may be interested to know that Eibach have just released a set of lowering springs (Front 30mm, Rear 20mm) that are unique as they are listed by Skoda as an ‘Authorised Skoda accessory’.
This position has come about due to Eibach working closely with Skoda to ensure that the lowering springs cause the vehicle to perform and handle as Skoda intend - and meet various other criteria placed by Skoda.

These springs are available now, through the JKM webshop priced at £128.35+Vat and include Free UK Delivery (until the 31st December).

Ill prob never go coilovers again. id go for a set of Bilstein B12 spring/damper combo. Best compromise of any suspension kit ve ever driven. And ive driven quite a few as well.

I was gonna go for the KW v3 with a set up from VW Racing as they do our race car, but 1500 queens heads is a bit steep for me and I have been trying to save for that, along with the new wheels I want to get too.

ive driven quite a few cars with the KW V3's on (mk5 golfds/leons/octavias and a few fords) they are always excellent handling. but IMO to much of a compromise for road driving. wear i live in medway the roads are horrific. When i lived in germany they were great, plus i only lived 92 mile from the nurburgring then as well
