what brake pads? green or red stuff?

hi iv got a ibiza 130 sport thats remapped to 180. its got the 312mm disc conversion on it with standard pads. i tend to be hard on my brakes and get slight fade on a regular bassis. i also like keeping my car clean but obv due to my heavy breaking im getting alot of brake dust.

iv thinking id like to upgrade my pads, im think either green or red stuff ebc's (yes i know red stuff is rated for over 200bhp)

can any one guide me to making the right decission or tell me of any different pads out there, remember im looking less brake dust and less fade. cheers

You'll burn through greenstuff's in no time, red I would say.

I've heard greenstuff are scary crap.

Redstuff are a fair bit of money (and also quite track-based?) and for similar price people go for DS2500's.

I'm tempted by yellowstuff as its a daily driver with a few trackdays thrown in, but my mate killed a brand new set in a day on track in his civic type R

Yellow are more track than redstuff....I've been using redstuff day to day the last two years, they've been pretty good...I'm still on 288mm's, but to give you an idea there's about £60 difference in price between redstuff and DS2500 in my fitment, you'd have to check what the difference is on the 312's.

Chino, have you noticed any more brake dust than usual with the Redstuff's? On my 200SX they were terrible (not braking wise, just dust wise) compared to standard pads.

Another manufacturer to thrown into the equation - Porterfield. Not sure that they make pads for Seat, although they do have them for the VW range (Golf, Rabbit, Jetta, etc.) so they may or may not fit.

Tbh they don't dust up much at all. They are mega grippy once warmed up, not too bad from cold either. Mine are starting to lose their bite a bit now but I've done nearly 20k on them!
