Ordered the custom alor blue. Although its very expensive compared to the very nice free red colour. I thought it was worth it when they where both next to each other. The blue stands out really nicely in the sun

Although I was tempted to get it in the lime green. But they dint have any to look at

Emocion red. Never thought i would buy a red car (I had my mind made up on grey) but on seeing one I really think it suits the style of it.

Monsoon Grey was the colour I'd decided on from day one. Even though I'm not a fan of red cars, I was quite tempted by the Emocion Red when I saw it in the flesh. I quite liked the Alor Blue too, but it was a bit too loud, and pricey, for me.

So I stuck with my original choice - my Monsoon Grey 1.4 FR SC is due late Sep/early Oct.

Was tempted by Montsant Red, but the sample in the showroom looked a bit orange, and I couldn't find any decent pictures of it at the time, so ended up with Emocion Red and don't regret it.

Have to say I'm surprised at the number of people going for Monsoon Grey. I'm also surprised that there is no Yellow in the options either from SEAT.

I have to agree with the Emocion Red looking very good though - I've never been sure of Red cars either but definitely think it suits the Mk3.

I went for Emocion Red, initially was going to go with white, however a few pictures here made it look a little plain and the white hid some of the angles in the body work. I also thought about the Alor Blue but £700 was too much for some paint. The fact the red went free on the SC sealed the deal for me.

I've ordered metallic white but just a point of interest for you all. Seat do not charge for paint ex the factory so when negotiating your deal choose whichever colour you like and do not pay for it.

They are also offering huge discounts at fleet level so make sure you leave the dealer with at least a few hundred off the price.

Monsoon Grey - when I bought the car (having just wandered into the dealer for a quick look), he offered a decent discount on either a Monsoon Grey or a solid white one, as they had one of each on site. It also meant a 4-day wait rather than weeks and weeks :)

The fleet always runs in silver. In this case ice silver. Easy to clean doesn't show dirt, chips or mud. Red looks great but imho I have never seen a10 year old without uv affected paint. Mind you the emotion red looked stunning and I agree picks out the swage lines just as the designer intended. So it's head over heart for me. Am running a polish experiment at present too in preparation for the new arrival. A glaze is the base sealant and then it'll be collinite or autoglym hi def depending on durability tests.

Alor Blue - expensive when buying brand new, but it was on the demonstrator I've ordered so no real extra cost to me.

the more i look at the red leons the more i like them now and it saves 680 but dont want to pi*s my dealer off by changing colour but i do really like the red lol luckily i can still change the car as it building has not started yet

only question is tho do solid colours devalue cars ? and one more are the solid colours on the leons lacquered ? as i read that solid colours fade badly over time

It won't devalue the car. Numerous money saving sites have looked at this and concluded that there is very little difference between colours but the ones people want and the one(s) the manufactures use in their ads command a premium, not the type.

As for the quality, solid paint is laquared but does not normally have as many coats - hence the fading/chipping you often hear about. In reality there is not much in it and in my experience the colour determines how much it fades and chips more than the type (darker is worse).

£50 on some meguiars #7 and victoria concours wax and you will have the solid red looking amazing with a tough wet look shine.

About to order an FR (Friday), was set on a white as Ive never been a fan of red cars. Just noticed that the paint is £175 option! now being a motability customer that cost would have to be met upfront.
I always thought the only car I would ever buy in red was a Ferrari :) whats the opinion on the solid red color? does it look cheap? .. I thought all the tough decisions were over....

I've ordered in Phantom Black however my Test Drive was an Emocion Red and to be honest I wish I'd gone for that now as it really set off the Mk3 IMO. It might require a bit more polishing to get close to the shine of Metallic but the Montsant Red just didn't look as vibrant for the FR in particular. Plus it's free!

Montsant red was not available at the time, so I got sugar white. My last car was black and I had given up on trying to maintain it from little white scraches, bird dirts and the heat it gets under the sun. Although from time to time (when I see one at night or in the shadows) I wish I had the emocion red.
