there seems to be a lot of love for the standard red... I think it makes the front end look sharper with the contrasting DRL's, arghh Im useless at decisions!

White is most popular if you add them both together. Would've got that myself but can't afford the cleaning bill.

My parents always had metallic blue VWs when I grew up, so I always wanted one - I just loved the color!

On the other hand, so far I've had 2 white and 2 black cars - always based on "what's available" on the lot. This time I had to order from the factory to get something in 1.2 DSG so it was an easy choice to go for Apollo Blue. :)

Ice Silver for me, for pretty much the same reasons as dephead2004.

I do my best to minimise swirl marks when washing / waxing etc, but some always creep in (particularly during winter time), and silver is excellent at hiding them. The only problem is it shows up tar spots a bit more, but that's nothing a clay bar won't sort :)

That said, the day I ordered - which seems like YEARS ago  - there was an Emocion red FR ready for someone to collect parked outside the dealers, and it looked fabulous.

That's the trouble, I've yet to see a red one in the flesh, the pictures around vary massively, some appearing almost orange..

EDIT: having just got off the phone to the dealer, they have offered me any paint colour I like free of charge (except Apollo blue weirdly!)

Was just about set on the free red too...;)

My wife really wanted the Alor blue but at nearly £700 i felt it was a bit expensive. I really like it also and still to see an SE in Alor, only seen FR's. We ended up getting Emocion Red becuase it was free and the car was ready and built so only a couple of weeks wait rather than 10 - 12 weeks to wait on a new build.

I ordered my Leon FR on Tuesday and originally was all set for the solid white, then changed to Nevada white and then changed to Monsoon Grey at the 11th hour. Not sure why, just felt like the right thing to do and the grey would add an extra touch of class.

Really do like the Alor Blue but oddly feel this is only suited to the SC model (I've gone for the 5 door model as I needed 5 doors).

I seem to be the only one to have ordered the Monsant Red!!!lol!! Looked great to me going by the paint example and not a hint of orange to me!!! :) I have had three Pearlescent black Golfs up to now and wanted a change. Hope the metallic paint is tough enough!! I have ordered the Seat Leon 1.8 TSI FR with convenience pack, and the sound system. The tech pack has now been added as part of the deal. I currently own a mk 6 Golf GT 1.4 TotalSI and did look at the equivalent MK 7. Have VW gone mad? 20 bhp less and to get to the same spec as the Leon it would have been £24500!!! Have to pay for the climate control. Now I like Golfs but they seem to have lost the plot!! Went to look at it and drove it and I was underwelmed for that kind of money!!!. I know it is a nice place to be but to replace like for like is just too expensive and I will not get the spec I have!!

Went to two dealers for the Golf. They seem totally disinterested in customers as though they are doing you a favour by letting you buy one!! lol !!! No deals just arrogance...went to the dealership in Coulsdon and they seem to think that because the showroom is all glass and very fancy, that you will swoon and buy their car!!!

So, first time buying a Leon. Same chassis, tranny, engines just a little down on quality on the interior but still very nice. Also, I am getting mine for £ 19,800 with my PX and the extra £1000 towards the deposit. I have to admit that the person I have bought my last 2 golfs from also moved from SG Smith Golf to Seat as they would not pay VW exorbitant contract renewal to continue to sell new Golfs. I like to know the person I am dealing with. VW's loss Seats gain. Yes I know they are the same company but I like the personal touch.

Anyway, I test drove the 1.8 FR and loved it!!! I wanted more power not less and feel I am getting a lot more bang, literally!!, for my buck with the Leon!! Here's waiting with anticipation!!!

After a long history of dark coloured cars, i went for Nevada White for a change. Also i couldn`t take a non metallic paint due to the less protective nature of the paint.

Is there much difference in quality? I hope I don't regret changing from Nevada white to solid red if there is!

It depends where you live in :) In Romania we have a lot of dust and on the roads trucks can throw small pebbeles and therefore chip the paint. It happened to a metallic car that i had.
Also on the Romanian seat forums there is a case that the non metallic paint chipped easily. All the cars that i had, had metallic paint, like i said, due to the extra protective layers and it maintains good over time.

Hi Madd

Sure you wont regret it, i have only actually seen a couple on the road one Red and one Grey. IMO only of course the Red looked a lot more sporty and really suited the car, the grey nice but a little more Audi like (if you now what i mean).

Quality wise my Emocion Red Mk2 is 5 years old now and yes it has a very small number of stone chips, but they are hardly noticeable and it still looks like new when clean and polished.

You'll love it.

The Alor Blue certainly stands out and looks good in the SEAT advertising, however like my dealer says: "How long will the colour stay in fashion?".

Personally, when I saw it in the flesh on an SE model last week at my local dealer, I wasn't as taken with it as I was when I saw it in photos. Just my opinion.

I went with the "boring" Monsoon Grey ;)

I really hope for the sake of my resale value that it stays in fashion!!

Be really interested to see some pictures once you get it. If I could have seen a car in that colour I probably would have ended up going for it, but in the end I stuck with the safe choice of Emocion Red.
