Went to the dealers for its first long interval service 17300 miles £172. Also new fuel line fitted on a Seat product recall (foc) They also cleaned inside and out. Saves a job in the morning!

I'd never let a Seat (or any other) dealer wash my car. Had no choice when taking delivery as I wanted to properly check the paint before driving it off the forecourt. However, when it goes in for a service or any other work I always insist they don't wash the car. The only person who touches the paint on our cars is me. I've yet to use a car dealer who takes proper care when preparing cars, they just want to turn them around as quickly and cheaply as possible.

It may sound a bit premature but I spent the day preparing for winter. I acquired these Audi alloys to put a set of winter tyres on.

The wheels are at the powder coaters as we speak, having a full refurb and being finished in gunmetal. My job today was to de-badge the centre caps, it probably sounds petty but I didn't want Audi logo's on my Cupra. So far I have removed the logo's and filled the recess that was left and started the paint process. I think they will look sweet on the Cupra :p

Progress so far.....

Got my winter wheels back from the powder coaters today, they made a fantastic job. If anyone in the North East needs any blasting or powder coating doing I can recommend Betta Blast based at Shiremoor on Tyneside.

not too early. I followed a gritter out of hitchin earlier today, with the orange lights flashing and the spreading sign alight.
at 25 mph. in 25C temp.
I would guess they were simply moving it from A to B, but with this @Elf n'safety attitude of local councils, who knows?

Did a spot of preventative maintenance today. As the alloys on the Cupra are quite open giving you a good view of the brake disc and hubs, I wanted to get a coat of paint on them before they started to rust. I think once the hub and edge of the disc are rusted it spoils the look of the car.

Fingers crossed it holds the rust at bay :D

Agreed, have had plenty of bad experience with dealerships and car washing, i mean scratchings. Still get the look from the wife tho when i ask her to mention no washing when she takes it in

Unfortunately did this:

Didn't feel a thing or see anything on the road that could have done it. Thankfully it's on the back and these had been rotated at a service anyway so they were far from new but easily had another 10k left in them where they were. Two new Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance and one new alloy ordered this morning...expensive week:censored:

The only positive it two less Conti's on the car.

Today I drove into the centre of London, off Fleet street to be exact and kerbed my OSF! ***k!

It was also my first propper drive of more than ten minutes.
