Fitted Goodyear SuperSports all round. Let’s see if they are up to the job and compare with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres.

Got 2x Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres going if anyone fancies them? 4mm tread left, one has a puncture repair and the other has what looks to be a nail head embedded with nothing going through the tyre.

My local tyre guy (who got £670 out of me for 4 PS4s) told me the other week that the new Goodyear’s are rated better than the PS4s and slightly cheaper, exactly what I wanted to hear.

I removed the snow guard from my air filter yesterday and neglected to use my car today in order to take my mother in laws i10 to the garage, what a delight.

I paid £450 for the Goodyear’s if that makes you feel any better? :)

Better in the wet on subjective handling Ona RWD, but not as good at dry or wet braking IIRC. Same in the dry, but NVH a lot worse. The PS4S are good enough in the wet I’d rather have the comfort so I wouldn’t worry too much.

Tried launch control tonight. In honest opinion it’s a load of fanfare for not much movement.. a good foot will get you going quicker!

Was nice to hear the limiter popping away like a machine gun though, but after that I just sat there taking about 2mm off my tyres

Yea I’ve done it in an R before and it’s a whole new ball game.. front wheel drive is never going to work!

There is some freshly still soft tarmac near me on a back road. I may try that to see if it makes any difference!
