I’m sure my neighbours think I’m some sort of freak sitting on the floor with my metal polish making my exhaust tips shiny... I know my wife does. They look spot on when done though

Just got my car back after having a bit of work done to it:

- Racingline Front Mount Intercooler
- Racingline Engine Mount
- Racingline Transmission Mount
- Racingline Oil Management
- Leyo boost hoses (Intercooler, throttle body, turbo outlet)
- Water pump & thermostat housing upgrade

Engine bay needs a bit of a clean, which is this weekends job:

VAG Manchester completed the work (cannot recommend these guys enough) - ran into a few challenges. The Intercooler fitted relatively easily, however the transmission mount was about 25mm out. They had to custom made some new housing and reroute the wiring loom to allow to fit. When reinstalling the R600 intake, the Intercooler was in the way so the R600 mounting points had to be moved slightly. It’s a snug fit! And then the GFB Diverter valve in place meant that they had to find another way round for the oil management hose.

Can certainly notice a difference in engine tone/noise, cockpit vibration and most importantly, power transfer.

Very happy with the results! Will have some more pictures of the installation shortly.

Got the Racingline Lower Transmission (dogbone) Mount to go on next. Just have the 034 Motorsport insert at the moment. Will get the Racingline front brake hoses too.

Went and got my new wheels and tyres fitted. Went for goodyear asymmetric 3 with the 10 miles I've just done they feel alot nicer to drive on and also quieter. Car just needs lowering now. Looks like a 4×4

I took the 280 to Dynamic Detailing in Sandwich, Kent for a paint correction. Swirls marks on my car were awful and it was beyond my expertise and equipment levels to do it myself.

The guy uses a space in the workshop of a company called Hidden Performance and if you’re into your Japanese imports and tuning then this workshop is like heaven. Max Power magazine back in the day would have loved it!

Mind if I ask how much? Been wanting mine done, but the places I contacted weren’t interested, possibly as it’s not a big job.

Cost me £35 - was more than happy to pay that for the intricate work, especially as the TRC splitter didn’t leave much finger room. Took him just over 90 mins but we were chatting quite a bit too.

I’m sure people have done it themselves for less, but I’m too impatient for work like that.

£35 is a bargain! Will be ringing them!

How easy was it to change the wipers? My previous car was a renault and changing anything on that was a ballache. Three arms and 5 hands needed for everything.

I did mine its very easy, the difficult part (on mine) was that the wipers come with multiple connectors and you have to try and work out which is the correct one, but to fit was easy.
