Hello everyone,

I have currently a green cotton panel filter on my 2005 Ibiza pd100 but I was wondering what a cone filter sounds like on a diesel because a lad I know told me they sound awesome but i do not know what to believe.

Help me out people.

Cheers in advance

also be intrested in this as ive heard mixed things with having an induction kits ie mucking up the maf sensor ect?? i think alot of people say to run a panel filter with std air box is better??

Hi
I had a Pipercross Induction kit on my Fabia
It was a tad loud and as I do 150 miles per day , I could not cope with the sound , it made it harder to listen to Take That
But it gave 4 bhp over the Pipercross panel filter and the PD160

sorry to hijack your thread mate lol!:D

alot of people recommend doing this, smoothing the airbox out, getting a decent cold air feed to it 3" or 4", you any size of your choice, bigger the better, and decent panel filter ;)

cheers bud,did you notice much change when you did this? when you say smoothing the air box out you talking about taking out all the fins ect??

When fitting a Cone filter, did you take out the full box or just the top half of the airbox so more air can get to it?

Also, whats the difference between a cheap ripspeed cone at 30 pound and a Pipercross at say 80 pound?

Thanks

yes mate, take out all the fins and edges etc, i noticed better throttle response with it, and you cant go far wrong for it not costing you anything apart from an aching arm ;)
ask jonjay what he thought of doing this mod aswell, no doubt he will be along soon ;)
