Does anyone know what this red warning/alert symbol means? It's only on the infotainment screen and has started coming on once I paired my phone with the car. It doesn't come up immediately after starting the engine, but a short time after.

I've been through the owner's handbook but I can't see it anywhere.

Also in the same boat, I thought it was possibly something to do with the reception on the connected phone as when its shown there is no reception bars.

Might be worth a shot will put my phone in the wireless charging dock and see if it happens, normally my phone just sits on the passenger seat so will see

Cheers

This means the wireless Qi charger encountered trouble charging your phone. Happens to me when I put my phone without proper alignment on the charger.

Pretty sure that's telling you that wireless charging isn't working (it's the Qi logo).
Ah, that makes sense.

My phone is new, but a Samsung android. Isn't it only iPhones (non-android) that can accept wireless charging?

My phone (android) isn't wireless charging compatible but I rest my phone on the charging pad, purely because it's convenient and safe there, when driving. I'll see if the symbol disappears if I rest it away from that point.

Decided to try it on route to a site visit today the symbol appears when i place my phone the wrong way in the wireless charger rectifies when i turn it round happy days :)

I typically place mine in with top downwards and screen face up. I'll try different orientations when I go out tomorrow, see if it makes any difference and gets rid of the warning symbol.

Which was the wrong way round for you?

You're thinking of Magsafe. Plenty of Android phones support wireless charging via the Qi standard.

It's worth monitoring your phone temp when using the charger in the car - whenever I used mine in the Leon, anything more than about 20 mins would (almost) literally roast the phone.

If you have an older phone and want wireless charger you can always buy an adpater.

Example (and there are loads out there)

I ended up having to drive somewhere this evening, so I kept my phone off the charging pad - no warning symbol appeared!

Just turn the wireless charger off in the menu then you can rest your phone there without it overheating.
