Like
Intermittent wipers (adjustable bit)
More power (over last car )
Looks
The rarity of ibizas round where i live
comfort over last car
handling over last car (although not as good as my classic mini)
good size boot (enough to fit hockey kit in :p hard one to do in some hatch backs haha)
and almost everything else :)

Dis-likes!!

Throttle lag!! even after a re-map :(
Seat refuse to acknowledge this, all they do is plug it in and see nothing is wrong.

2011 FR TSI - Candy white

Good:

Performance is ridiculous for a 1.4 !!
DSG.....just fantastic
Fuel economy and general running costs
Styling.....amazing looking car.
Surprisingly comfortable and refined to drive. (on good roads).
Decent stereo. (Not as good as my previous Golf, but so much better than my 2008 Civic Type R).
Great spec…cruise control, climate control…..etc etc.
Decent build quality. Seems very well put together. (Can't understand some of the negative comments in this area ?).
Rarity………only seen one other FR on the road. (never seen a Boca).

Bad.

It’s a bit high, could do with dropping a few inches.
Hard ride on bumpy roads

Can't think of anything else.

That would be my main gripe also, step into a Golf and you'll see what people mean, there's a lot of cost cutting going on in the Ibiza.

My last car was a Golf TSI GT with full leather pack.

Yes, the Golf was simply superb and was extreemply well built, but I would not say that the Ibiza is of poor bulld quality.

Its been built to a budget, but it seems like its been put together well.

Looks
Engine - even for though fuel economy isnt all that good its still a decent piece of engineering and will really reach its potential with a remap (circa 140bhp??)
Handling - not had much to compare it too but I like it for what it is
Interior is a nice place to be
Climate Control
£30 tax a year
The smell of the DPF Regen, mmmmmm

Dislike:

The smell of the DPF Regen- surely its not supposed to come into the cabin!
Encrypted Siemens ECU - holding back a potentially swift car, grrrrr
Ride Height - frankly embarrasing
Torsion beam rear suspension - handling would be so much better!
Squeaky fit and finish

Current car - Mk5 Ibiza SC 1.4

1. Styling.....just a win/win!
2. Cruise control - Just easy when on a clear motorway or speed check zone.
3. MPG is very good!
4. Boot space is a decent size.
5. How quiet it is on tick over. I keep thinking i've stalled it or not turned it over.

Bad points:

1. Feedback through AUX wire on sperakers. Is that the same for everyone?
2. How high the suspension is. Get a fist under those arches!
3. Glovebox. No more needs to be said on that subject.
4. Rattles....they do my nut in.
5. Throttle lag, but I can live with that as speeding away from traffic lights isn't my thing haha.

Previous car was a 106 1.1L.....Anything beats that!

Go to the AUX menu and ther should be 3 volume options...select the one that gives you the best sound!

I now have made a rule for my car.

Nobody in the back.

Every person that gets in, can never get out with either kicking the chair, scraping their back and banging their head.

The chair just doesn't slide forward well on the passenger side. No more people in the back.

Thats my dislike.

Got the same model and I think the handling is a weak point, understeers a fair bit and the front slides around (on good tyres) far too easily. When the tracking is out even a bit it's appalling. Maybe the extra weight of a 5 door but I don't think it'll make that much different.

Handling's not that bad, adambolus, chriis and me were quicker round the inters handling track than better handling cars, mk1 LCR's, a3 1.8T's. OK, they're slightly bigger, but also more powerful and have proper rear suspension.

On proper roads, yeah, doing circuits of a roundabout the front will begin to push wide at about 40mph (quickly solved by lifting off), it gets unsettled by bumps round bends and its no 4wd rally monster, but i've always found it a nice responsive drive, and really satisfying when you string a series of bends together because you actually have to work at setting the car up for each turn rather than relying on electronic trickery to get you round at silly speed.

I can only compare it to my old 1.4 mk3 and 1.2 clio. And its far better than those cars

Ok. For me it's mk4 1.4 75ps SX (50,000 + miles in it) vs. Mk5 1.2 TSI sportrider SC (Only 340 miles so far...). Not comparing to hothatches or high cost performance cars!!

For the mk5
1) Cruise control - didn't have it on the Mk4 and it's very useful.
2) Auto headlights - I actually like them, but you can switch to OFF or normal manual lighting if you like.
3) ENGINE ENGINE ENGINE... the 1.2TSI is BRILLIANT - even though it's still very much running in I love this little engine, it's so much more powerful than my 1.4 was and much happier at lower revs makes it much easier to drive (the 75ps was a bit of a nightmare to handle at low revs).
4) Boot space seems a little bigger than the Mk4
5) BOOT LIGHT... so handy LOL! The mk4 was ridiculous not having one.
6) Climate control - well my mk4 had this as well and I think it's brilliant on both cars - works really well the ventilation is excellent in the ibiza.
7) Stop-start - seems to work really well and might save a few pennies.
8) MPG - not sure on exactly how good it'll be yet but it's already better than the 1.4 on similar driving even though the engine is still newborn.
9) Handling. Better than the mk4, the sportrider has sports suspension which perhaps isn't fair as the mk4 was standard, but it feels far more stable and less roll in fast corners.
10) ESP- not really had to use it yet (knowingly anyway) but it's nice to know it's there to help out in an emergency

Against the Mk 5 compared to Mk4....

1) 8 speakers on the stereo sounded superb
2) 5 Drs... only for getting stuff in and out of the back... I think the 3Dr is sexier though
3) Temperature guage - though if I'm honest I hadn't even noticed it was missing on the Mk5 until I read about it on here.
4) Brakes on the Mk4 were superb - but the new one is still bedding in so not fair really.
