Every hot hatch I have owned has recommended using RON98. I used to run 98 on my Clio 182 all the time. I then swapped to just regular RON95...I can honestly say that I experienced NO noticeable or significant difference.
I have been running the Boc of RON95 at the moment (perhaps thats why my turbo packed in), but if you think RON98 will make a significant difference then I might try it for a few tanks.
Well I decided to have a punt this afternoon, it's the first time I've filled the Boc up since I got her and so took her down to my local Shell to fill the tank with V-Power, it cost me just over £40 for a full tank. Although I was slightly embarrassed when I realised that I had exactly £40 in cash on me and had left my wallet at home, needless to say I dashed home to get it...putting the 1.4 TSI engine through its paces as I went
I'll let you know how it goes in a couple of tanks time, the trip computer states that I've currently got 270 miles worth of fuel as opposed to the 245 miles on a full tank that it showed when I picked it up last week...
AcidXp, special cases for special people lol, because im serving with the forces in germany we dont pay tax on anything, eg my boca only cost £12495 and fuel is also payed without the german tax of 19%, its gleaming

After my last reply I started making my way to work for my penultimate nightshift, anyway, whilst driving along the A30 I noticed that my trip computer had jumped from 270 miles to 280 miles in the tank, I arrived at work and it still said 280, and then this morning when I drove home I arrived with 275 miles left...how odd!
That said, if this is a sign of things to come with V-Power then I could get used to it
Depending how you drive it will always change. Mine does the same, 270 round town, hit the open road and stick at 70 mph and the range just starts climbing to 400+ miles. I have driven with my range telling me 0 miles. How did it cost you £40 quid to fill up?! I filled up 2 days ago and it cost me £65 @ £1.19.9 a litre?!
^ Yeah that is a bit odd mate as I paid considerably more than £1.19.9 a litre, though mine wasn't completely empty, I had 2 full quarter bars according to the trip computer. I realise that it depends on your driving style, but I've never experienced the range going up like that before, it's all a bit Twilight Zone
I filled up a few weeks ago as i had to work 30miles away for 3 days, when i filled up it said 240 miles till empty by the time i had drove the 30 miles it had gone up to 290miles till empty love it
When u want to drive this car economically u can, brilliant engine
I'm just past 4000 miles now and have just had my best fuel economy yet.
My trip to work and home is 36 miles each way mostly through countryside so 60mph is pretty common (90+ occasionally in places!).
I've just gone 402miles on a single tankfull. I'm amazed myself at this with the performance available. I regularly now reach 40mpg on these trips and the running average today was 40.8mpg
