Hi - I remember when Ollie had the car built - Filled a cardboard box about the size of a mini skip with all the bits it didn't need, couldn't even lift it off the floor when done.
Anyway, there's an 02A box on the for sale section for £130 if you need but the best thing to do is to change the final drive to a passat one as the std box is not fun. A quick search on here should tell you the ratios. To be honest the box was the most valuable thing on the car but if your changing anything you may aswell put a LSD in if the regs allow, it will be a big investment on gravel and snotty tarmac?
If you are going down the LSD or even gear kit route - I'm looking at the quaiffe gear kits and LSD's so maybe some discount from them with two people.
Also watch out for the rear hubs as the bearings are oversized and the disc hub machined out to accommodate the larger bearing.
