Not blinkered at all im just saying if i spent £2k on my cupra i very much doubt a CTR with £2k spent on it would get anywhere near me.

im sure a 300bhp CTR would be very quick but how much money has gone into that as a cupra gets that with a £500 remap, im pretty sure it cost more than that for the CTR correct.

This was the point i was making about 25 posts ago, no other hothatch is as good for £££ = performance until you get to spending about £4k on mods or bolting on Turbos and SC's.

No thats not what im saying at all, i was asking Poverty what he thinks one of our Cupras could get down the 1/4mile as we are around the same mods and about £2-2.5k ish spent.

Jackson racing SC is £2500 plus £700 fitting and their running high 12's low 13's with r888s (around £400 for fronts at todays rates), hardly the best £££= performance that is it nearly £4k and you havnt even touched the chassis.

and i think he said with a diet yes, in that case if stripping is allowed then the answer is yes although it wouldn't be the easiest of tasks it could be done yes

but im not really into the chasing numbers/times game as long as the arse dyno feels good thats all that matters

and you can also buy a turbo kit which will give you 50bhp more for 1k less, like i said alot of variables depends what tuner or company you use

Not sure of this escort im on passionford and from reading the quickest 1/4mile cars on there nothing in the FWD class comes close to that??

Running costs aren't a major issue so its just down to which one i prefer, not driven the k1 yet so will have to see how much it impresses me but i like what ive seen and read... but then again the ed30 is also growing on me not sure how that compares to the k1??

theres a lad on a local forum to me think hes on here ( hurdy ) last i read he was nearly in the 12's but hes going up for 370bhp if i read his last update right

It might be worth noting that the fasted ED30's to the eye wouldnt appear to be stripped at all. Just lighter seats, and a removed rear crash bar but other than that it was pretty full fat.

The only other hatch that can touch the cupra with just a map is the mazda 3 mps.

Its cost me roughly 1600 to get up to my spec fitted. Beat that

Ed30 has the same engine as the cupra so same potential.

Fastest ed30 had a terminal speed of 115.85 when it did a 12.6

420hp not bad, havenT seen any tuners advertise over 400hp yet on the RS, who is tuning it?

will be done by himself mate but MSD will do the live map, manny, FMIC, NOS, full system, live map... he had the mk1 which made 411bhp wasn't much good till after 70mph
