What is an acceptable price for replacing wheel bearings?

As per the title.

I am based in North London, if that puts anything into perspective.

I've noticed a slight humming coming from the car (unsure whether it is from the front or rear at the moment) and if I am right and it is the wheel bearings, I will get both sides changed.

What is an acceptable price for replacing the front(s) and/or rear(s)?

front bearings are a press out job. about 1.5 hours labour each side too. PITA. rears are easy and can be done on your drive and as per lee69 post in about half hour.

jack 1 wheel up off the ground at a time and spin wheel as fast as you can and listen for a drone. it is sometimes the rear tyres that cause a drone if they are directional..... but this can be checked when rear wheels are spun up individually.

Thanks! Taking my car to the garage for a new tyre on Thursday, so will give it a spin and see which one it is.

Is it advisable to replace the side that it worn or to do it in pairs?

Had the NSF wheel bearing changed today at the price of £85.00, part supplied and fitted, so the humming noise has disappeared.

Thanks for all the help so far!

However, I am still getting a slight humming/groaning noise when I turn left sharply. Does anyone have an idea what this may be?

Im doing mine tomorrow, brought the front bearing kit for £19.99 and got a garage ready to press it out for £5

Just put some gloves on and save some pennies lol

Wish I could, but I am not as mechanically minded, nor as brave as you in doing it myself.

Can anyone shed any light on the humming/groaning noise when I turn left on the move. It isn't always there, but present on the odd occasion.
