Spotted a Genuine VW RNS510 touchscreen Sat Nav system online.

Want to fit it to my 08 Seat Leon Cupra. Has the standard MP3 unit at present.

What all would I need to fit this unit to my car to ensure all bluetooth and sat nav features work accordingly?

Also is there any way to change teh VW branded loading screen to SEAT?

Thanks,

Chris

Cheap GPS sensor, have a look on Ebay there are loads of them for about 10 GBP. Place the sensor in the A pillar for best reception. For bluetooth you need a VW premium bluetooth kit but you need to know which RNS version you have, and which MFD display you got in the car. All work with the RNS unit but not all show up the phone book on the MFD display.

Yes. Create custom boot logo here - http://www.netdata.be/iso/?old=seat

I've just got an RNS 310 which I'm planning on fitting this week. My Leon is also an 08 like the OPs

Have today bought the fascia (1P2 858 071 AN87 - £13.15) and GPS Antenna (£8 delivered of eBay). Shouldn't need anything else in theory, but may need to fiddle with some of the connections to get it powered up.

Looking forward to it as I really do hate the standard radio on the pre-FL Leon!

Guide on now to install - GUIDE: Retro fitting OEM Satnav MFD2/MFD3

Basically as mentioned you need a GPS sensor/antenna as well as 4 x 'u-nuts' plus screws and a new fascia.

Also I would recommend aRNS-510 AM/FM Radio Antenna Adapter
the RNS has two inputs for radio antennas. the aerial in my car only had one. you can just plug your single aerial in to one of the input. when I did it on mine I lost AM and the FM was a bit flaky when go long distances.

That is a RNS B-unit which was build from end 08 till begin 09 so probably a retrofit.
You definitely want a LED version so I would search for a D version or newer. The newer units are also a fair bit faster.

BTW SW (=firmware) 1100 is very old! I now got SW4120 in my car (F version RNS)
