the 6 has the exact same engine just 4wd, lot heavier though.
The 6 is cheap cos it was a sales shitbomb and they thought it was gonna be a massive hit

nope 6 is cheap cos its a Mazda.

All Mazdas bomb on resale, only exception is the Mx-5.

Just look at the RX-8 for further proof.

Yeah the RX-8 really isn't holding its money like the old RX-7 did/has but then the RX-7 was a much expensive car to start with about £35k i think.

Still if you can stomach the fuel and oil costs of running one the RX-8 is a great car.

Hows the mini treating you ant?
I'm of the verge of changing my FR and atm its most likely gonna be an Ibiza Cupra TDI that I get next but I do like the mini cooper s, just a pity they're so expensive both new and second hand.

Your point is moot as i got 5.5k off.... so resale isnt gonna bother me in the slightest

The RX8 was designed as a loss leader, it costs them like 30 grand and they sell at 24 or whatever right from the go. and its a hairdresser car, and if you thought hondas were gutless till high revs, this makes you laugh

having driven both RXs, the rotary bug certainly did not bite me, it was disappointing and a boring drive, having to rag them out to 10k to see any kind of progress, i much prefer a massive kick of torque in the back

the diesel minis are awful, gearbox is sweet but the engines sound like a mower, so rough compared with the PD engine, the petrols are a nice little car to drive and fun but new they are unjustifiably expensive but thats bmws fault they're expensive

Yeah, the rx's do need to be revved hard to get anything out of them unless its an RX-7 twin turbo, especially if its been tweaked a bit then it goes like hell.

I didn't like either of the mini diesel's which is why if I was gonna get a mini it would have to be a Cooper S but they're so expensive both new and second hand its hard to justify buying one over getting a new Cupra TDI.

yea, leave the coopers for the middle aged women who think they are still "hip" and "with it":cartman:

You refering to a Cooper or Cooper S?

Though I do see too many middle aged women driving Cooper S's aswell and I doubt they ever rev them past 5.5k rpm which is a shame cos that engine really sings above that rpm.

nice one !

like it a lot, and with a proper hatchback/boot too, bet the ibiza is bit a distant memory :(

going back to the RX8, I think it would have sold loads better if they fitted a nice 2.0 v6 or a 4 pot turbo

I would wager a very good amount of money that my crap Cooper S would slap your Mazda round the track though. thats one of the best things of owning the mini, owning other cars who think its all cutesy.....lolo

how you getting on with the Mazda been a few weeks since I've properly been on here?
how are you finding the fuel bills? I tell ya I'm loving my new Polo don't miss the Ibiza, ok maybe the fuel economy but I found the Ibiza to be souless and I very much missed the free revving nature of a petrol...LOVING IT baby yeah! lol :D :D :D
