Ok I have a bit of a dilemma here. I have made a deal with a member on here to by his Mk2 Leon cupra BUT I've been waiting a while now to get it and he doesn't know when it'll be ready to hand over. Unfortunately its been over 3 weeks now and still no idea when it'll be ready.

Now this is where it gets tricky. I have been offered a VERY clean Subaru Impreza STi (hawkeye) for nearly £3k less. This one to be exact. Its local to me as well which is a bonus.

If you had the choice to make what would you do???

Depends what you want really but 3k could turn that Subaru into a lot better drive than the cupra. I'm not a fan of the hawkeye but that is nice!

If you want the cupra ask him when and if he won't give you a day look elsewhere for another cupra or something else

The trouble is he works away a lot so getting it ready is a bit of a hit and miss. He's told me he understands if I find something else.

Its just that this scooby has come up at the last min lol.

Ideally I'd like the Leon as it a perfect daily car but I just can't hold on forever lol. The Subaru is also nearly £3k cheaper. My heads pickled as it is now this has just made it worse.

I'd go and look at the Scoob because it might not be as good as it looks in the pics, plus like you said you can't wait forever.

I prefer that look to the bug eye look though, looks meaner, but for £10k I'd go Evo 6.5

I've had an Evo 8 mate. The 6 looks to dated for me.

I know the car as it local and it is VERY clean but I really don't know I thing about them.

The thing is I don't mind waiting but 3 weeks this weekend is a long time and I still have no idea when it'll be ready. Its just really frustrating when you like a car but things out of our control holds things back.

Each to their own I guess and if you've done the Evo and you fancy a Scoob then it looks like a very nice example.

I think it all comes down to how much you really want the Cupra, do you think you'd regret buying the Scoob 2 months down the line or would you have forgotten all about the Seat?

Weigh up the pro's and con's of both then try to pick a clear winner, if turns out to be the Cupra give the guy a deadline and say if it's not ready then you'll sack it off and buy something else.

I wasn't even thinkin of the Subaru but I got a text off my mate saying it up for sale if I'm interested. It turns out I'm very interested lol.

This is a complete mind f**k :(

Personally I'd go Cupra but the only person who can decide is you.

Seriously I'd go down the route of jotting down pro's and con's for each car, did that myself before I bought mine, noted down the differences between the two cars and if it was worth paying the extra for the one my mind was leaning towards.....in the end it was and I have no regrets :)

Go with your heart, not your head. Your mind may well be focusing on the £3k saving but in 6 months time would you still want the scoob, or would you want the cupra? No one else can choose for you ;)

Just think, if this scoob that you've been offered sells, would you search for another really good one, or would you take the cupra?

MPG in scoob = woeful... remapped Cupra on rolling start eats them for dinner and most of all i would be worried about the impreza throwing its 3rd leg out of bed which they can be known to do... steer clear and be patient

Slightly off topic but reading the scooby ad it says it was taken as PX against a focus RS, but further down says it says they looked for months before finding that particular scooby?

Just so you all know he's taking most of the stuff off it. Its not coming as it stands with the fancy coils, brakes etc. My budget doesn't stretch that far unfortunately.

If you have the cash waiting im sure you can find another Cupra to the same spec and tidiness if nothing comes up by the time he is ready then have that one but I deffo wont be waiting. Whats the point in advertising a car thats not ready to be released.

5 weeks is a long time to wait for a second hand car though, even if it was mentioned in the ad.

I personally don't see why it should take so long, I understand people have other things going on in their lives but to not be able to get a car ready in more than 5 weeks is a bit poor, especially when you have a guy sat there waiting to chuck the money at you.

He obviously isn't in no rush to sell is he. He will have the hassle of advertising and going through the same thing again if this lad finds another car.
