Guys, you have seen the thread about the rattle which was coming from the jacking points under the car?? Sounds very similar.

If it's like a high pitch drone then it'll be the N75, I believe it's the turbo solenoid (located top centre of the engine bay). My local dealer noticed the noise coming from this and replaced the solenoid as they thought it was faulty.
Have it checked out, could be doing some long term damage as the air isn't been recirculated efficiently.

Had it looked at last weekend, but the lovely rain made it almost impossible to hear, so it's going back again when we have better weather. IT's not high pitched at all, more low and rattley.
