Thatcham Cat 1 = ALARM + Passive arming imobiliser

Thatcham Cat 2 = Passive arming imobiliser

The imobiliser part of both is the same - Cat 1 just adds an alarm functions.

The seats generally come with Alarm ( key button operated ) and a passive immobiliser ( coded chip in key operated ) so it should be Cat1

not all seat's have alarms aswell... you might want to check to see if yours has before giving the wrong info to the insurance company.. mine normally goes off if i leave the window open... not that i do it much lol

Its a "standard fit Cat 1", if you just say "cat 1" they'll want proof of fitting.

Cat 1 alarms can save up to 10% on car insurance :)

Yeah thats right, when I got my insurance documents after I changed company I had to sign a form to say that the alarm was factory fitted, or if it was an aftermarket fit, then they wanted a copy of the installation certificate.
