What to upgrade first!

Ok so i've had my Leon FR for around 5 months now and going from a 1.4 MG ZR to this 200hp beast i wanted to get used to the extra power before I worried about upgrades!

Anyway I feel as though I now want more!

The car is completely stock atm

Leon FR TFSI DSG 07 reg @33k miles

What would you suggest I update first? I'm not just talking about power, i'd be interested in suspension changes/alloy changes too.

Atm it has 17" alloys on and as somebody has mentioned before, getting some 18" alloys on would be better but you'd need new suspension or the ride will be extremely harsh!

I'm a bit new to the upgrading scene so forgive my ignorance.

These are the things that i'd assume could be upgraded for better performance/looks

Exhaut
Remap
Induction Kit
Alloys
Suspension
FTCC body kit

Anything else i'm missing?

Things I would do first-
1. 18" wheels, can get them cheap on ebay and you can sell yours on. I payed £250 for some nearly new 18's then sold my originals for 400. So I actually earned money by going to new 18's!
2. Eibach sportlines ~ £150. Lower the car and improve the looks, plus make it handle very good.
3. Remap- Superchips Bluefin. Purely because its a lot cheaper than APR or Revo. It makes a hell of a difference and you can change back to standard map when ever you want with the handset. If you are not bothered about cost then get APR or Revo.
4. Cat- back exhaust... lots to choose from and non are really better than the other.
5. stage 2...................................
etc
etc

It's never ending

I personally wouldn't bother with an induction kit, it doesn't give any extra power unless you are remapped, and it makes your car sound like a bag of spanners.
Again, I wouldn't bother with the BTCC kit either, it means you have a small penis.

If you do get bigger wheels I would go for some decent rubber!

A lot of packages come with budget tyres - which will not be adequate especially if you are looking to remap!

Yeah I was going to get some Falken 452's if they came without any good rubber on.

I think the 18" alloys/Eibach sportlines is the logical thing to change first, just need to find some alloys that I like that aren't stupidly priced!

Thanks for the responses so far!

Yep Falkens are very good, i'm running Falken ZE912's.. If they are good enough for Revo's 350hp Golf GTI then they are definatly good enough for me

Whilst I'm here, and not getting involved ;) do people think putting a stock 170 CR FR with 17's on sportlines is a good shout?

That one's out of the question then! haha. Oh if only I could afford new 18" alloys (and justify them!)

Mine's a TFSi FR, but I'm doing exactly that (20-30mm drop) in a couple of weeks, and I've got 17s. I'll let you know once I've done it...

No in all seriousness the BTCC is cool, but if you haven't got it from the factory then I think it's too expensive to retrofit and the money is best spent in other areas! :p
