What Would Be A Good Engine Conversion?

Well I have an Ibiza and I have spent quite a lot of money on it such as adding a new exhaust system, New paint job, Sport Coils, Aftermarket headlights and alot more, however the company I work for limited me on their insurance to drive 1.4's and no higher, but recently they have changed insurance and I can drive any sized engine car. I understand that cars that have been modified go down in value so I would see it as a bit of a waste to just sell it for a low price. So what I am wondering is what engine conversion could I get instead of my current 1.4, my budget is £1500 and wan't to get a lot more power from my Ibiza so what would be a good choice as labour would not be an issue?

sell all the modifications that you have made, find a car (more powerful that the 1.4) you like at a price you can afford and see what the trade in for your car will be. I was pleasantly surprised at what part ex i was offered on my car. To be brutally honest, insurance will kill you if you go for a engine conversion plus you will be throwing money down the drain as your car will be worth even less with conversion imo

I heard you could get the 1.8 chipped and get it to 200 BHP, is this true?

why build a car you can buy?

you'll have to upgrade suspension, brakes etc. which is just going to be crazy money and over £1500

if its the 1.4, the suspension won't be able to hold the weight of the heavy 1.8t or 1.9tdi engine and therefore will create serious handling problems. Just buy another car if your that desperate for more speed, thats what i have just done!

Your company insurance may allow you to drive any engine size, but I'm pretty sure this will not cover engine transplants (if it did I'd be suprised) most insurance will require a full engineers report for the conversion.

Surely it would just be as easy to get a new car?
