oh, ive been offered some autosmart wax, does anyone have any experience with this product?

As an LSP (Last Stage Protection) there are simply hundreds of options for you so it really depends on what you want to spend and what you are looking for in the finish and durability.

Have a look at some of the detail write ups on this page and also the Studio and Showroom sections on DetailingWorld to see what other people are using and then base your decision on that.

I've never used AS wax but if its a gift then use it, you cant really go wrong with a freebie.

Any wax will Look great with the right Preperation before hand, this often gets over looked and is the most important part.

Preperation is the key to a quality finish. 95% of your results will be through cleansing/claying//compound/polishing/refining.

Once that is done you can apply wax/glaze/sealants etc.

At the moment I suspect your cars paint will feel rough when you rub your hand over it (even after a wash) The roughness you can feel is dirt that can be removed by clay barring and other methods. Do this first followed by a polish and a wax and you cars paint will stay cleaner for longer as dirt will have less to cling to.

Hello matey,
As previously mentioned, your car needs to be well prepared. After washing, remove surface contaminants with a clay bar then give it a good polish. I use Gtechniq P1 which works well by hand or machine - follow this up with a sealant, I have Wolfs Bodywrap on the front of my Leon FR & it gives a nice slick finish and should last for 6 months plus. (Need to make time to do the whole car:thumbup:)

For some top info go to www.detailingworld.co.uk and you will get some great advise and info on products.

All the best,

Top Advice! guys.

As mentioned its all in the preparation. Whatever your polish / glaze is. Apply it till your happy.

Layers should be built up. Thin layers, there should be no harsh rubbing / scrubbing. if it takes you 3/4 goings over your car till your happy then do this as once the Wax / Sealant is applied that’s you Sealing the finish in for the Extended time.

Good 3-4 months is achievable by most waxes and sealants available.

No matter product choice. The theory is mostly the same.

Apply thin layers
A little product goes a long way
Once your happy with the paint polish level then protect.
Apply more protection layers to extend life.

If using Sealant / wax combo always Sealant Before Wax for max durability and reduce hazing.
