was easier to post up than search as im using i phone and would take for ever lol ...

thanks for the info tho bud, so basicly with some pound notes thrown at a cupra it could be just as good as any s3 :)

S3 has fourwheel drive. S3 has other minor mechanical differences including a different wider intercooler with metal ends - Cupra intercooler is narrower and has plastic ends.

Facelift Cupra and Cupra R share CDL code engine and k04 turbo and both have the electronic diff which is nothing like a proper diff or much different from pre facelift Cupra with no electronic diff. Cupra R has intercooler as main mechanical difference over facelift Cupra.

Cupra K1 is a pre facelift. Cupra with VXR exhaust, Aero skirts, Aero Spoiler and the ugly Aero bumpers and an extra badge.

The search function works perfectly on the iPhone by the way ;)

S3 engine is slightly stronger but nothing really noticeable. Stage 2 plus Cupra more fun to drive than a stage 2 plus s3 in the dry, if you have BT ambitions I'd get the s3 though.

going from vxr to cupra i think just gathering info cheers for all teh help guys, always liked the vxr range and to be honest imo i think vxr is better looking but thats just my oppinion,

my oppinion is also that the leon is a 100% better build than any vauxhall tho so im far from biase lol..

my vxr is 09 and i would give it to a scrap yard i had that many problems lol

Once you map your Cupra you will be wondering to yourself why you never did it sooner. Vxrs sound the nuts but aren't that quick mapped or not.

S3 engine is no stronger as far as I know Jason but I wish I had bought four wheel drive this time rather than another Cupra.

The comment on VXR Astras not being quick is true to a point when compared to an equivalently modified Cupra but in their own right, they are reasonably nippy when the correct modifications have been done. Agreed they sound good but I never considered them as competition for my old car. Looks wise, the VXR is arthritic now and it's replacement is iminent and looks set to have the basis and making of a quick car albeit about five years behind VAG.

I agree, 5 years behind vag, and just imagine if vag drop the 2.5tfsi detuned version of the ttrs in the next mk7 platform cars, then what would the competition do erm .

Doent say it wont happen either because i herd off a reliable source that SEAT are trying to secure it for the next Cupra.

Or more likely a k04 tsi engine.

Astra VXR interior is not much different from the interior of a 1996 basic Vectra though

Compared to what?

Yes the cupra has a faily poor interior but Audi, VW, Skoda, Bentley, Lambo, Porsche, Bugatti are all good

Apart from the centre console/head unit the cupra ain't that bad, I for one don't have much time to check my interior out that much I'm normally grinning ear to ear enjoying the pace!

We don't consider that's an acceptable excuse. Believe it or not, mods and admins have Iphones / Android phones and we don't think it's hard to search.

fair point was easier to do and get peoples up to date oppinions which as turnied into a intresting read ...

i am a ro for vxronline and i understand spamming is not acceptable, this is quite o good and busy forum you have aswell :)

Have to disagree there. Fabia and Ibiza yes, but the others are ok other than the centre part of the dash in the pre facelift leon. The Golf interior ha always been decent other than the crap seats in the mk5gf gti.
