What's the Purpose of the Small Hose on the DV?

Definitely the engine bay, behind the bulk head.

I've looked at the exhaust centre mounting bracket and heat shield, nothing seems to be loose.

Sometimes I get kind of sucking noise to accompany the rattle, I'm convinced it’s something to do with the induction system

i had a rattle and it was the shield that fits by the TIP , the metal one by the bulk head and also my dynatwist was vibrating . took a while to find them both

I found the rattle to be the air intake tube on the bottom of the air box rattling against the threaded metal post attached to the inner wing.

No more rattle, no more strange noises!
