What's this for?

ok just opened the front door on my ST and noticed there's a threaded hole in the top of the door frame about the middle as you look at it, it's on both sides on the front doors, but not on the rear doors....

Any ideas?

I've got same on my 5dr sport. I assumed it may be something to do with manufacturing process???

That's strange i see these holes on many new cars these days,

i have them on my leon FR and its on the new mondeo.

im guessing its something to do with a roof rack fitting as theres nothing else for it to fit on to.
or am i totally wrong ?
