Cambelt, water pump and tensioners normally around £300-400 depending on where you go.

Has it had a clutch? Make sure you get to drive it from cold, as when the duall mass flywheel is on the way out it is very difficult to get the car into gear, the clutch bite will be very low and the clutch will be heavy.

Its ok once the car has warmed up for 10mins or so though.

I know this as this is what my last one did when it went, and what my current one is going now.

Funny think is both went at about 104k miles!

i agree with the milage thing aslong as it has been looked after, mine hadnt and boy will it rip the arse out of your jeans, if you do anything while looking for your cupra, make sure and sure again that it has been treated well, iv had mine maybe 5 month and it now on 108k, in my ownership its had cambelt kit and water pump, new sump, new clutch, master and slave cylinders, clutch bleed valve, N75 valve, coolant sensor, bypassed N249 as it was knackered, numerous hoses and the bill currently sits at £1500 ish!!!! and now it sounds like the coilpacks are finito! you buy a thrasher and you WILL regret it! eventually i will have a minter as im slowly replacing everything, but this isnt what i wanted, its just i have to as i bought the wrong car
