Wheel Nuts.

Just a quick question... I'm currently running 20vt alloys, which have the original wheel bolts on, which I'm guessing are same as found on steel wheels. This I'm not bothered by, as they are hidden behind the centre caps. I've now got myself a nice new set of Cupra-R alloys which I'm going to put on mine, but thinking these bolts are going to look ****... i.e. do I need chrome bolts? or is there chrome covers you can buy for them?

Could anyone advise, also what is standard on the 16v's, as the alloys on those show the wheel nuts.

Yeah I thought of that, they look fairly tidy, also in the standard gold anidised colour, the only thing is they have a dip in the centre, so not a flat end to them.

Think it might be the best/cheapest option!... Will see what they look like on.

I can even get them chromed for you through a supplier at work ;)

Hi Andy,

Thanks for that, thats good of you. I'm probably going to wait for the moment, and put them on after the winter, as the car probably won't be used much over the next few months. I'll try the standard ones, and come back to you if I'm not happy with them. I just wondered if on the 16v, as standard are they the same as what mine would be?

Cheers.

;)

So thats you, adam1.4biza and me all with a new set of OZ Seat Sport Super T's! - Anyone else? Who got the Speedlines?;)

On the bolt covers - I have the OZ Seat Sport Super T's! on my mk2 and think the standard black plastic SEAT caps look good and cost pence from the dealer. Never had any fly off either!

Hi Jon, sorry a bit late getting to this thread but with all the chopping and changing of wheels I do I have had a set of all the various VAG nut covers in the past. You can get plain black ones from SEAT for about 30p each as fitted to Rob's R (try one for size), or you can get greyish Audi ones for similar money (where have Audi moved to in Exeter now?). Neither of these fly off if you don't remove them too often yourself (which stretches them a bit ). Also you can get plain round looking ones from VW with a hexagon shape in the middle (I have had these fall off, but they were old and probably stretched a bit) and the new VW ones which are really cool that are sort of domes with a hexagon hole and VOLKSWAGEN etched into them.

I have odd ones in my garage if you want to try one for fit before you have to cough up a fiver at the dealership for a set.
