Parents are after a Leon, but want to avoid a car with the DPF filter if possible... is this any car since 2008ish?

Thanks :)

Diesels were fitted with a DPF, to meet the strict European Co2 emissons laws, I think it was the year that 'Euro4' emissions law came into force for new vehicles, I think it was about late 2006/early 2007

Edit, its now moved on to 'Euro5' emissions, which I think came in last year iirc

Tell us which car your looking at and we will tell you if its got a DPF

If its a MK2 Leon FR TDI of any age though it will have one

Thanks all for the replies :) I think they're going to avoid the diesel now, and just look at Cupras (or any other model that's relatively quick and looks nice!)
