Body shops, Seat do use approved paint shops. You get the official paint job which is covered by Seat warranty or your friendly local body shop which doesn't have the warranty. I guess yours went off to the approved shop. You only get them into the unapproved warranty repair places if you take it yourself. My dealer was good to offer me the two options. 80 + mile for your official one with Seat warranty or the one the dealer recommended if you were not bothered about warranty. Everybody locally takes their car there for the hedgerow scrapes etc.
Explains the distance if you live outside a town area where the VAG approved bodyshop are more distant.
Depending upon the location of the repair (even simple lower bumper repair), if the bodyshop do not have ADAS calibration equipment then maybe it went for calibration somewhere else?
