Where to find engine number?

Hiya peep, been asked for my engine number so I can get a quote for servicing. Where can I find it on my 59 the Bocanegra as the numbers I have given aren't correct thud far.

Why do they need the engine number mate? I though all they needed was the VIN number which is on the lower passenger side of the windscreen I think or check your V5 document.

There quite hard to get at, easiest just to look on the V5

Just spoke to them and they settled for VIN, got the engine number from V5 in the end. But only gave them the VIN. I'm only after a quote atm, weighing up whether it would be cheaper to get the parts then just pay a garage to do it for me.
