Hi guys, looking for an air filter for my LC , not sure which one to go for, i did want to go for a cold air induction kit but all the ones on ebay are not suited with MAF sensors, should i go for a performance panel filter ? Do i also need a breather filter for the other pipe that goes to the air box if i was to go down the forced induction route??

What your thoughts or what's the best thing to do from your experiences ?

Cheers all.

I'd say if you want big power or more noise then the Jetex kits seem to be commonly used on here.

If you want more throttle response then buy a Green Filter, Avoid oiled filters generally as they can cause problems with the MAF sensors on most newer cars due to being oiled excessively or incorrectly which then causes issues

I'd go for the Green Filter personally although I've been looking at Ramair filters myself recently but unsure of them

Do you have a link for the green filter so i can check one out ??

Thanks.

Hi cupraslayer,

Will this suit my car as it has a MAF, also is it panel or forced induction? Cheers.

Always been fine on mine. Has had 2 mafs , but that's in the 8 years I've owned the car . If you pm me a email I'll send you some pics.

Ok, cool, how do i pm you ?

Click on my name on the left hand side . Will bring up a small list. You want private message. Don't do others as everyone will see your email address. If you get stuck , go to the forsake section . Look for my ad. Email and mob is on there.

When i click on your name it doesn't give the option for private message , tried finding it everywhere ! Lol , hard work ha ha , my email address is : [email protected]

I've got a RamAir on mine and it does sound awesome. You can hear the induction, turbo and recirc when you let off and it does sound pretty cool. 50 quid well spent IMO. I saw a test on a standard skyline on YouTube and a cold air induction kit and panel filter had almost identical power gains over a stock filter, so it basically comes down to cost and if you want to hear the induction etc

When you guys fitted your induction kits did you have your cars set-up for them?
Reason I ask is that I fitted a Ram-Air to mine, ran ok for afew days then gave me loads of grief! Including engine management light and stuttering acceleration!! I've been forced to put standard air box back. All problems disappeared straight away!!!

That is weird, mine made my mpg drop by 5 straight away but no running issues. The remap has bought the mpg back up too.

100% Jetex

https://www.jetex.co.uk/jetex/store/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=6711

youll need a 70-80mm reducer to fit this to your maf.

I switched from a pipercross velocity which was basically starving my car of air (old, dirty and past its best) proof you really do need to change/ clean aftermarket filters :) logged g/s before and after fitting the Jetex and results were amazing.

I gained 14 g/s with the jetex on which i believe is 17.5BHP. Stage 2 Cupra

Proofs there, buy Jetex ;)
