I'd probably be a bit more specific, EBC pads are utter crap. Their discs are nowhere near as bad as their pad compounds. You're not the first person to suggest EBC can't make brake pads, however the discs themselves are pretty well made.
Personally I've been happy with EBC Greenstuff pads for years, but I am a high mileage old f4rt who wouldn't know a trackday if one came up and slapped me on the face!
Sorry to not being specific enough but I ran a car previously which I bought with EBC red stuff pads and their drilled and grooved disks, and has to be replaced after I nearly put the car into a ditch due to the brakes not engaging sufficiently to get me slow enough before the turning point.
I had a few previous experiences of the brakes not being up to job I started by changing to OEM pads and then two of the disks warped and then had to change them.
I'm new here so I have no idea what has mentioned here before regarding EBC brake components.
My older car which is a Renaultsport megane 225 has run Brembo stuff on it for the six years since I had it from new which has been superb, maybe a little on the expensive side but anything slightly powerful is worth the extra.
